On March 12, Vince Staples was in Louisville, Kentucky as part of his “Circa ’06” tour behind last year’s excellent Summertime ’06. While in the city, he went to a local restaurant called Royals Hot Chicken. Staples liked it so much that he left a glowing Yelp review for it, writing “If you love your life and you love freedom then you must visit.” He also seems to say he’s never actually seen a KFC in Kentucky, and added, “Fuck the Colonel.” Unfortunately, Staples had to delete his Yelp account because too many people were “sending [him] SoundCloud links and shit,” but Pigeons and Planes took a screenshot of his great review while it was still up. Read the whole thing below.

Staples has had a lot to say about businesses recently. Last week, he criticized Spotify while playing a set at SXSW’s Spotify House. At the show he said, “Thank you for giving me this check to make up for what you’ve done to me and all my musical friends.” Later, he told the crowd, “listen to your favorite album 1,000, 2,000 times so everybody can get an album sale.”
